** No matter the type of mortar selected, all mortars and racks need to be inspected to be sure they are clean of any debris. 


HDPE

  • $$$
  • Long Lasting
  • Wooden Plug
  • If a shell explodes in the tube, the mortar will bulge or split rather then break apart.
  • Can melt into an egg shape if multiple shells are shot in a short period of time.
  • Let mortar cool for 5-10 minutes in between each shot.

    Fiberglass

  • $$
  • Long Lasting
  • Resin Plug
  • If a shell explodes in the tube, the mortar will break apart. 
  • If the pieces of the mortar hit something, very little damage occurs.
  • Let mortar cool for 5-10 minutes in between each shot.

    Cardboard
  • $
  • Short Life Span
  • Wooden Plug
  • If the shell explodes in the tube, the mortar will be destroyed.
  • Only made out of paper and may catch on fire.
  • Let mortar cool for 5-10 minutes in between each shot.
